At the beginning of the game you will only have access to certain resources and goods (due to the different Roles tiles distributed and their restrictions). Go to the Marketplace to acquire additional production sites that will give you new options...
The competition is considerable - as is the pleasure of stealing cards from the player who coveted them! The many goods (such as fish, alpaca, cocoa, silver or corn) all have their own characteristics and ways of use. While money gives you wealth, fish can be traded, alpaca gives you wool that can be made into clothes...
Also take care to deliver the right goods at the right time to develop your trade routes properly, store them cleverly, and you should do well!
