Batman(TM): Gotham City Chronicles is a miniature board game in which 2 to 4 players control the Dark Knight and his allies in scripted battles using an open, asymmetric gameplay system. Each game is played in a scenario in which two sides confront each other in an action-packed conflict. One player plays as the villain and controls Gotham City's most infamous criminals. The other players take control of the heroes, who must work as a team to thwart the villain's plans. Each side plays in turn, hoping that their strategy will help them achieve the goals set by the scenario.
Each game of Batman therefore follows a scenario that defines the atmosphere, the context, the place where the action takes place, the set-up of the game, the number of turns and the specific objectives of each side, which must be achieved to hope to win. The game features two opposing sides: the heroes and the villain. We wanted to highlight this dynamic as soon as you see the boxes. Yes, "the boxes," because one box won't be enough to hold everything you have.
This separation into two boxes has another important advantage: it makes it easier to put a part in place. The heroes' box contains the heroes' boards, the screens, the cards... everything they need to play. The villain's box contains miniatures, tiles, dice and everything needed to prepare the command center and the upcoming battle.
