With Dionysus, we did not want to create a unit focused on combat, but rather a unit focused on control that represented opulence and chaos. Let us begin by examining the power "Orgiastic Procession" which aims to simulate the arrival of Dionysus, accompanied by one of his processions. This power gives the player several troops, which in turn have many activation cards. The objective is to support the notion of opulence, underlined by the number of "art of war" cards that bring Dionysus, as well as by a high number of life points.
Satyr children also help Dionysus to control the card, as they all have the talent of the block. However, we do not imagine that it is by their physical strength that they manage to block their enemies; it is because the units in their regions are too busy drinking their wine and enjoying themselves. The power of the Satyr children clearly shows that Dionysus is not here to kill opponents by fighting, but on the contrary to make them lose themselves in the chaotic happiness of joy. This power greatly disrupts the opponent's position and actually offers important control over Dionysus' map.
If Satyr children cannot attack or collect gems, we imagine it is because they are busy serving wine to all units in their region. This is represented by their talent as a whole, as we have seen above, but also by the talent of the bolster troops and the intoxicating power of Dionysus. This power, on the other hand, can generate chaos in the opponent's cards by forcing him to discard the cards from his deck.
Obviously, Dionysus can be a technical unit to play, due to its low mobility which requires careful placement on the map. Despite this, he is omnipresent on the field and has the ability to disrupt the opponent's strategy. This, combined with the fact that he can send children of satyrs to bring him Omphalos (simulated by the talented gem collector), allows him to win by reaching the Omphalos.
