It is the year 1400. You are Abelard, knight sworn to King Charles VI the Beloved. You live in the city of Paris, in a family mansion, not far from the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral. Since your childhood, you have had strange and prophetic dreams in which you have seen violent scenes of past or even future crimes. In time, you learned that your unusual gift could be put to good use and you began to solve cases that no one else could. This earned you a certain reputation in the city and today, people seek your help whenever a mysterious crime is committed.
The new stand-alone game Chronicles of Crime: 1400 brings well-known mechanisms to life while adding new twists and turns. Now you can deduce not only from the evidence you find or the testimonies given by the various characters, but also from the mysterious scenes depicted on the new vision cards. These scenes can be from the future or the past and usually involve characters and objects that have not yet been revealed.
