The Hegemon expansion brings two new mechanisms to Dominations: Hegemony tiles and Omen cards! First of all, the Hegemony tiles. These tiles are mainly a new common lens system that replaces the ordinary Objective cards in the game. When playing with Hegemony tiles, players do not draw a Personal Objective card at the beginning of the game, as they would normally do. Instead, they will all try to satisfy the demands of the Hegemon. These demands are determined by drawing three hegemonic tiles, each of which will have a criterion based on cities, knowledge cards and Nodus colors. The players will then compete for the domination of each objective dictated by the tiles: at the end of the age, the player with the highest number of each of the 5 criteria will be awarded additional victory points! In case of a tie, no player scores the points - Hegemon is only interested in the best...
However, as time goes by, the old leaders will fall and new leaders will be born... The beginning of each new era will bring a new hegemony to power, and their demands could be very different this time! Two of the objectives are constant: the number of levels of Monument in your possession and your influence score. However, the old tiles will be discarded and three new tiles will be drawn. As a result, your goals may remain the same (at least in part), or change completely for the next Age!
