Lead the American or Soviet Space Agency in this engine construction, this placement of workers, this race for the Eurogame on the moon. Play in a team of one or two players where each player on a team controls either the engineering or administrative workers on their team. Coordinate your actions with your teammate at each of your turns to place an engineering worker or an administrative worker on board the actions in order to gather the 9 different resources of the game, write development cards, increase your media coverage, recruit astronauts, improve resources, develop your space flight capability or spend resources to launch humanity's first manned and unmanned missions into space.

The type of worker you place changes the effect of a Board action. Each board action can only be used once per turn. Thus, placing a worker not only prevents your opponents from using the action, but also prevents your teammate from using the alternative effect of the action with his workers. Take advantage of the media advantage to place your worker first in a round or get a media bonus for unique special abilities and bonus resources.

Score victory points by building maps you have written or by successfully launching missions into space. Each successful launch allows you to improve one of the actions on the board, not only for your team but also for your opponents. Successfully launch enough manned missions to complete the first manned lunar landing before your rivals, earning you bonus victory points and ending the game. The team with the most victory points at the end has contributed the most to one of the greatest achievements in the humanities and wins the game.

One small step is a fun way to learn about the space race and is ideal for a U.S. history program in the classroom and at home.
