The Few and Cursed is a competitive adventure game created by Mike Gnade. From 1 to 4 Curse Hunters must explore the desert of the Pacific Ocean, fight gangs of bandits and take down monsters, do odd jobs and bounty hunters, or discover supernatural artifacts to gain fame. Based on the comic book series The Few and Cursed by Felipe Cagno and Fabiano Neves, the board game expands the comic book universe and brings characters and creatures to life with incredible miniatures! The Few and Cursed is a bit like Buffy against Vampires in the Wild West, a comic book series set in a dangerous universe where people are trying to survive in a world where the water practically disappeared overnight during a mysterious apocalyptic event in 1840.
Track down the curses in the Apocalyptic West. The Few and Cursed is a deckbuilding game with no cards to buy. Each player chooses a Curse Hunter with his or her strengths and weaknesses. The characters have different starting decks. Their mastery of weapons, abilities, statistics and curse transformation are unique. You do not spend any resources to acquire cards. Instead the author has developed a fluid system to build your deck. Each turn, players improvise by drawing cards from the Improvement deck and choose one that they immediately add to their hand.
As you travel through the desert of the Pacific Ocean, you will draw Encounter cards according to your position and make choices that will impact your turn. The order of these events is random at each game and forges a story in the comic book world. Each Curse Hunter is affected by the supernatural. Draw too much from the darkness and you will be metamorphosed and cursed. Each cursed state has its advantages and disadvantages but all lead to death.
