Tucana is a group of islands inhabited by creatures and dotted with cultural sites. In order to facilitate the movement of the villagers between the different interesting places of the archipelago, you are in charge of planning a network of trails. Let's go for your trail through the forest of Tucana. During one part you will have to: climb mountains, cross rivers, make your way through the jungle, cross unexplored plains.
A route still to be defined. Each player receives a map of the island of Tucana, showing its villages and important sites. The positions of the villages are different for each player. Each turn, one player turns over two terrain maps. Each player must draw on his own map a path between two adjacent areas of the indicated terrain. Gradually, the tracks will turn into a network of roads. Players score points by connecting the corresponding ports. Being the first to connect two ports earns bonus points.
To make the game even more challenging...
In Trails of Tucana, the different terrain maps are distributed in a variable way. For example, Mountain maps are less common than Desert maps. It will therefore be more difficult to build a trail through a mountain range or over water than in the desert or forest. Players will have to take this into account when planning their routes. The game ends at the end of the second round. The points are then counted and the player with the most points is designated as the best planner.
