This expansion adds two new factions, the Ixians and the Tleilaxu, to the Dune board game. Tleilaxu: Ruled by a small council of Tleilaxu masters, the fanatical and xenophobic Tleilaxu were tolerated because of their superiority in genetic engineering. Although underestimated and hated by others, they hope one day to dominate everyone. Ixian: The cyborg, Prince Rhombur of House Vernius, leads the Ixians, masters of manufacturing and technologies that only they can deploy.
The Ixians and Tleilaxus are an integral part of the CHOAM economy and the Imperium. The royal family of Ix was once one of the wealthiest in the Imperium. Due to a successful invasion of Ix by the Emperor's Tleilaxu and Sardaukar, and then, after many years, the liberation of Ix by Ixian and Atreid forces, the Ixians and Tleilaxu are mortal enemies. This expansion also introduces new gameplay mechanics to help you gain an advantage over your rivals.
