In ancient Egypt, more than three millennia ago, men competed in the Osirium trial under the gaze of the immortal gods. Inspired by Osiris, the judge of souls returned from the dead, the Osirium was a way of settling many conflicts and ensuring that the truth triumphed. If honesty guides your actions, then you will not fear to walk in the duat, and you will make your Deity proud. Osirium is a test. Your goal is to defeat your opponents to make the deity to whom you have pledged allegiance proud. To do this, you must collect as many points (or Ankhs) as possible, by performing Rituals with different Amulets. There are 4 deities available: Isis, Anubis, Bastet and Set.

The oldest player plays first, as it is assumed that he will join the gods sooner than the others... Then the player to his left plays his turn, and so on. On your turn, you must play one of your 4 Amulet cards. Place it on any free space on the board, choosing its orientation. Then draw a new Amulet card to have 4 Amulet cards in your hand again. You can either take an Amulet card from the Marketplace of Deities, or draw an Amulet card at random from the top of the draw pile. If you take a card from the Marketplace, immediately replace it with a new card from the deck. You may cast one of the rituals on your Deities deck (see Casting a Ritual on p.7). You may do this before or after placing an Amulet on the board. You may cast as many rituals as you wish. Casting a Ritual is not mandatory. You may also decide to pass. This allows you to discard your entire hand of Amulet cards and draw 4 new Amulet cards instead. When you pass, ignore the two actions listed above. The event ends when a player has cast 5 Rituals. Check to see if a player has completed their Exaltation card (a secret secondary objective), then proceed with the final countdown.

Casting a Ritual. There are two types of rituals: Simple Rituals and Advanced Rituals. Players receive Simple Rituals at the start of the game. They are easy to cast but do not score many points. Players can draw Advanced Rituals during the game. These rituals are worth more points. Each Ritual card represents the amulets needed to cast the Ritual. To cast a ritual, you must ensure that the amulets shown are correctly linked to each other: An amulet is linked to the adjacent amulet if the two arrows are facing each other. There must be no other Amulets between the arrows of the Amulets required to perform the Ritual. There may be more Amulets than are needed, of course. In this case, simply indicate which ones you are using. A Ritual allows you to gain Ankhs (as many as indicated on the card, opposite the corresponding symbol). However, casting a Ritual consumes the energy of the Amulets. For this reason, some of them must be broken. Remove the Amulet(s) of your choice from those used for the Ritual and place them in front of you. Rituals can be cast according to two principles: Order OR Chaos.

ORDER: These Rituals score more points and break fewer Amulets - meaning more Amulets are available for other players. CHAOS: The black symbols represent the principle of Chaos. These rituals score fewer points and break more amulets.
