D.E.I.: Divide et Impera is a game of exploration and survival set on an Earth devastated by a new ice age. The cities of the future, the crucible of civilisation, have become frozen deserts dotted with the carcasses of skyscrapers now reduced to uninhabited rubble. Between the alleys of old London, bands of survivors use their skills to explore and loot the few remaining resources, selling them to the Pure Caste in exchange for food and fuel. The Pure are the sole remaining high-tech heirs of the ancient civilisation. Protected by fortified citadels, they manage the bands of survivors, helping them in their research or competing with them so that they cannot ally themselves and threaten their domains.

In D.E.I., each player will control one of four Survivor bands, and they will compete with each other for the richest loot to trade with the Pure Caste. They will have to explore London on two levels, between the streets and on the roofs of old buildings, in search of the precious resources of the past coveted by the Pure: Technologies and energy cells. Each faction will start with 8 cards, a Hero and a few Explorers, but over the course of the game it will be possible to acquire new action cards from the London black market, build new structures such as bridges and lifts, and gain temporary control of the hi-tech Drones the Pure Caste will give them.

The game's map is fully modular and three-dimensional, so each game of D.E.I. is always different and exciting. Explorers will often compete for resources and influence in the markets, so fighting is inevitable. In addition, during the game, players will have to solve missions of increasing difficulty, which will increase their victory points. The gang of survivors that gets the most victory points, satisfying the Pure Caste, wins the game.
