It's a Wonderful Kingdom is a stand-alone single or 2-player game set in a low-fantasy world. Inspired by the core mechanics of its predecessor "It's a Wonderful World", this new game offers more interaction, a bluffing mechanism and new challenges. The game is played using modules, all of which are different and offer mechanical twists. In each game, players choose one of the different modules to play against. The game is divided into 4 rounds. Each round has 3 phases.
1/ Split & Trap: Players take turns placing their cards in two piles in the centre of the table. One player draws 2 cards from his hand and places them either on the same pile or splits them between the two piles. The other player chooses a pile. This step is repeated alternately until the players have placed all the cards in their hand. In addition, each player has 2 Trap Tokens which can be used to place cards face down. 2/ Planning: Each player chooses which of the cards they have collected to build and which to recycle in order to speed up development.
3/ Sequential production: Each player produces the resources of his kingdom sequentially. As the resources are produced in a certain order, it is necessary to anticipate the sequences to optimise production and development. At the end of the 4th round, the player with the most victory points wins the game.
