House Baratheon's philosophy of "heavy weapons and heavier armour" even extends to its cavalry. The champions of the stag are among the most heavily armed in all of Westeros. These mounted knights ride into battle in full armour, their huge steeds equipped with full barding. Yet they remain quite manoeuvrable in battle. These knights can be used as a flanking force, or simply plunged directly into the heart of an enemy formation.
The Stag Champions unit for The Iron Throne: The Miniatures Game gives Baratheon commanders a heavy cavalry option for their forces. With their strong defensive and morale save stats and multiple wounds per miniature, they can withstand enemy attacks very well. They are also formidable on attack, and have special bonuses from the Champion's Wrath ability, which grants critical hits and forces the enemy to weaken if they roll 1's on defensive saves against their attacks. A truly powerful unit to have on the battlefield.
