Their thick scale armour covered in boiled leather allows them to withstand heavy assaults and even cavalry charges. That said, their 'heavy armour' is equivalent to the average infantry of most ground forces. But Ironborn have always been a mobile force, and even this heavier version of their signature chain mail offers superior mobility. Used intelligently, Ironworkers can even the odds against the strongest enemies.
