Designed by Bedouin Games and Iden.team Illustrated by Ben Maier, Macro Paganessi, sculpted by Renan Assuncao and Ludwik Lukaszewski. The Flood is a European style game with dice/resource and event mechanics and over 140 miniatures. In The Flood, players are transported back in time to the prehistoric world before the flood. Their goal is to build a network of huts and camps and collect enough resources to build the Ark before the flood. Each player can get a Mammoth - the hero figure that can also collect strategic resources. Each turn, players roll the tool die and two commodity dice to collect resources from their structures on the triangular hexes. The raw materials are as follows: Gopher wood, tar, wool, vegetables, limestone and water.
The game board consists of 23 triangular hexagons which are arranged so that the edges of the board are the weather markers. Tool tokens are placed on each triangular hexagon. When the correct product and tool are rolled, players receive resources. During their turns, players build and collect commodity cards, resource tokens, move mammoths and get story cards. Story cards control the weather and offer multiple other bonuses and negative effects. Players can choose to strategically buy dice rolls to gain a potential advantage. Trade is a strategic element of the game. Players can trade resource cards with each other, with supply occurring in two different ways. All players can lose if none complete the construction of the ark before the flood.
