Introduced by the Moors, azulejos (originally white and blue ceramic tiles) were fully adopted by the Portuguese when their King Manuel I, on a visit to the Alhambra Palace in southern Spain, was mesmerised by the stunning beauty of the decorative Moorish tiles. The king, impressed by the inner beauty of the Alhambra, immediately ordered his own palace in Portugal to be decorated with similar wall tiles. As a tile artist, you have been challenged to beautify the walls of the royal palace in Evora.
In Azul, players take turns choosing coloured tiles from the suppliers on their board. Later in the game, players score points according to how they have placed their tiles to decorate the palace. Extra points are awarded for specific designs and for completing sets; wasted supplies hurt the player's score. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Since its release October 2016, Azul has won numerous awards and has been particularly well received by players. If you don't put it down or haven't played it yet, you absolutely need it in your game library, with Azul, you'll have a great time with your friends, below the reward obtained by the game : 2018 (As d'Or - Jeu de l'Année).
