The 80 cards are dealt as fairly as possible, face down, between all players (players do not look at them). Each player thus forms his reserve. The totem is placed in the middle of the players. One bows respectfully in front of it. The players reveal a card from their reserve in front of them, each in turn (in the direction of the course of the sun or, if it is dark, clockwise), then cover it in the next turn, thus forming their discard. Only one hand is played, the other must never intervene (it can possibly hold the reserve).
When 2 people have turned over the same drawing (the colour is of no importance), there is a duel. The first of the two who catches the totem pole wins the duel, the other players do not have to intervene.
