In Stories 100 Ends, players take turns telling a constantly evolving story, as is the case in oral traditions. The patterns on the cards provide visual cues to the people, objects and places that are central to the action, things to be remembered in the correct order, with cards disappearing and new ones being added each turn. Those who, as narrator, manage to present their version of the story without error will be rewarded accordingly. In Tales 100 Ends: Pirates, players slip into the role of seadogs who tell each other all sorts of fantastic stories in the harbour bar about sunken ships, treasure maps, pirates, mysterious islands, dangers and adventures at sea.
