The land of Kilforth is a perilous territory filled with evil monsters, mysterious strangers and dangerous places. Ample City is a huge city where intrepid heroes begin their journey to fame and fortune. Across the land, various factions clash, such as the so-called noble Order of the Rose, the terrifying Doomguard and Masklaw the overlord of the world around Kilforth. Over the next month, a deadly Shadow will descend upon Kilforth, through which the heroes must fight to prove their worth, defeat a primal evil and save the land from darkness.
The Shadow of Kilforth is a fantasy quest card game with a gothic twist, playable in 1-3 hours, where 1-4 heroes (ages 14+), working individually or together, must take their humble adventurers on a journey into darkness through a world of magic and peril. They will visit unfamiliar places and strange people, defeat powerful enemies on their mission to discover mysterious artifacts and mystical spells. Each player follows the story of his or her hero, an epic saga from a humble beginning to a Homeric battle that will decide the fate of the world.
Players have 25 days to develop their own skills and defeat an evil entity called the Ancient One. During the day, heroes travel through Kilforth, overcoming encounters and collecting rewards, all while building an epic story called a saga. Each night the land falls further into shadow and if time runs out before the Ancient One is defeated, Kilforth will be trapped in shadow and the heroes will lose the game. The Shadow of Kilforth takes about 45 minutes per player and can be played competitively, cooperatively or solo (solo players can use 1 to 4 heroes).
