Randolph Carter is sitting across from your desk. "The state police have strongly advised me to stay away from the mountains." One dead companion, two others missing and presumed dead; Carter comes from a wealthy, noble family, which is enough to explain why he's still not under arrest. "Mmh mmh," you mutter without much enthusiasm. He continues: "We were investigating the insidious death of the locals, the penniless mountain folk descended from the Dutch settlers who once took over these lands. Since he informed me of the events, Typer is obviously nowhere to be found. The situation is beyond us and I was wondering... Would you be willing to conclude this investigation for me?
An inherited capital is better than no money at all when it comes to paying the rent, so you agree to go to the Catskills as soon as possible to search the mountain. "Take an umbrella," adds Carter. "This area is plagued by an impressive number of storms." Arkham Noir is a solitaire card game inspired by the short stories of H. P. Lovecraft, reworked in the style of Philip Marlowe (Raymond Chandler's character) or Nestor Burma (Leo Malet's detective).
Each case is an independent adventure with an adjustable difficulty level. During the game, you will add cards to some of them and thus create a wall of investigation, which you will have to complete at all costs. The goal is to clear five puzzle clue cards and collect them on your wall. But beware of your sanity: madness means failure!
