New York City, 1926: Two crime families vie for territory to extort local businesses and control the underground distribution of liquor during Prohibition. Each family fights dirty, doing whatever they can to get their hands on the liquor crates, even if it means sending their rivals to sleep with the fish. You are the "Capodecina" of one of these families. Command your henchmen to take over New York City by collecting crates, eliminating rivals, exposing moles and tipping off the DA to your opponent. Do you have what it takes to make your family Capo dei Capi? Each round in MOB: Big Apple, players roll two dice, then decide how to execute the results. Each roll of the dice allows players to allocate their henchmen to the two game boards and perform a variety of dastardly tasks, such as loading cars with henchmen to get to the location, loading crates of contraband, revealing their rival's moles, and evading the DA.
In more detail, six key locations in New York City are contested each round, half of which are represented by a black die and half by a white die. You roll one of each die each round, and the die values indicate which locations you can interact with, and how many henchmen can go to that specific location, with the white die serving as the location and the black die as the number of henchmen or vice versa. Each turn, a player must send at least one henchman to perform a specific task on the action board, which can help order cars, expose moles, move crates, and influence the district attorney to go after his rival's family. Once both players have assigned all their henchmen, the round ends, then a battle takes place at each location, with the survivors left to guard the contraband. After the third and final round, the Capodecina with the most cases of contraband takes control of the Big Apple!
