Wake up your taste buds by composing original, subtle or strange menus in this game by Emmanuelle Piard and Barbara Turquier, illustrated by Xavier Collette. At the beginning of each round, all players randomly draw 12 ingredient tiles. They also receive a secret theme card that tells them the menu they will have to prepare: A meal in the savannah, a hippy dinner, a vampire meal, etc. The menus must evoke as well as possible the theme card received, they consist of at least 4 ingredient tiles and can contain one or more dishes. It is up to each player to cook the ingredients to his or her own sauce and to play with the flavour of the words and dishes to compose menus that are tempting, funny or downright bad depending on the occasion.
To concoct the dish(s) on their menus, players place the ingredient tiles they wish to use on their magnetic slates. With the help of their markers, players can add linking words between the different ingredient tiles in order to obtain a consistent dish name. Under no circumstances can they write nouns or adjectives! Once all the cooks have composed their menus, the theme cards are collected, shuffled and finally revealed by reading them aloud. Players then take turns unveiling and reading their menus.
Will players be able to guess which theme card each menu corresponds to? Will they be able to make as many players as possible discover the theme card they have received thanks to their menus? In Et Toque combine unexpected ingredients, a pinch of humour, a zest of poetry and find the recipe for success!
