7 Ronin is a tactical, asymmetrical, bluff and intuition game set in feudal Japan that pits two players against each other. One player is the leader of a mysterious clan of ninjas who want to steal a village's crops to replenish their own reserves. The other is seven Ronin, samurai without a lord, hired to protect the village. Each will have to outmanoeuvre his opponent to plan his movements, anticipate the enemy's actions and make the best choices according to the circumstances.
The game is divided into two phases. In the first phase, the players plan their actions secretly behind a screen. In the second phase, the pieces are placed on the central board. The Ronin activate their powers and the ninjas inflict their wounds. The game ends on the eighth round or if the ninjas have managed to occupy five places in the village.
