Santorini New York puts players in the shoes of builders constructing a great city in the early 20th century. During the game, you will move your workers around Manhattan, raising buildings and skyscrapers. To prove your skill, climb to the top of the tallest building and look at the city you have built. Only tactical moves and cards will bring you victory. In this abstract strategy game for 2 to 5 players, you will control 2 workers while building the city of New York. Each turn consists of one move and one build, but special role cards impact how you play your turn. Each player will have 5 role cards, choosing one to play at the beginning of each turn. Once used, it is discarded, which continues until each player has only one role card left. Four more cards are dealt to each player to give them more options.
The first player to reach the third level wins the game, but must have the Statue of Liberty at the time to win. A number is printed on each role card, indicating its order of initiative. The role cards are revealed simultaneously on each turn, and the player with the lowest number goes first. The player with the highest number takes the Statue of Liberty, and is the only player who can win on that turn, creating an intense and dynamic "all against 1" environment each round. The game comes with 14 packs of cards, but only 4 are used in each game, allowing for a large number of replays. The game also comes with 6 custom sculptures of the world record breaking skyscraper at the turn of the century.
