Welcome to Arzium, a land of ancient civilisations, strange creatures, unexplained wonders and dynamic characters. A great sleeping sickness has spread across the land, sending all manner of creatures wandering for hundreds of miles in a dazed, incoherent march. It's up to you to track them down and wake them up from their sleepwalking, recruiting them to help you find even more lost souls! In Journey, you and up to three friends compete to find lost adventurers. The game features over fifty unique tarot-sized adventurer cards that represent characters from Near and Far, Above and Below, and Islebound. The opposite side of each card represents a landscape divided into six squares, and two rows of three of these cards are placed in the centre of the playing area to form the board.
Each turn, you can activate one of your group's adventurer cards by turning the card face down. Activating an adventurer allows you to place search tokens on the board in the shape shown on your adventurer card. When each space on a landscape card has been searched, the player who made the most claims the card, finding the lost adventurer and adding him to his group. Each adventurer you add to your group gives you points and a new search pattern that you can use. As you search, you also claim coins, which you can spend to perform special actions or buy artefacts with useful powers. When a player has ten adventurers in their group, the game ends and the player with the most points wins.
