4 of the new Advisors are based on mythical beasts and are accompanied by meeples/miniatures, representing statues of these fantastic creatures. The player who buys one of these can place the meeple in a dedicated area of the board to gain new and powerful advantages. Where it is placed is crucial, so it is essential to plan it well!
Qilin, as a prosperity symbol, allows you to harvest extra wood, gold, stones or Meditation in a chosen location. Qilin is like an extraordinary Clerk - he doesn't need an empty slot, and when he is removed from the board, you can place an ordinary Clerk in his place for free. Yinglong, a powerful winged dragon, will inspire your soldiers. You place Yinglong on a chosen section of wall - it allows you to gather your forces there instantly. In addition, soldiers under Yinglong's presence fight with great zeal, counting as two when gaining honour for defeated hordes!
The Spirit Turtle, a sacred shell beast, gives your army a certain resilience, reducing your losses on one of the wall sections. How? Your soldiers will not die here! Finally, Fenghuang, a blessed bird, is a symbol of virtue. Swap all your Watchers for Fenghuang and place it on a chosen location. It acts as a maximum level triple Watcher in that location. In addition, your old Wardens return to your pool, so you can recruit them back into the barracks!
The other 8 Wardens are similar to the Wardens in the base game, but in the case of the core mechanics, the more the better - more choice and more replayability (but the base game has tons of options).

The Great Wall was funded on the Crowdfunding Kickstarter (See the campaign) platform on the Dec 17, 2019, the campaign lasted 21 days. 15,794 people helped funded the game, whose the amount requested was £40,000.00. Thanks to these 15,794 people the game could be funded up to £1,151,159.00, ~2,877.90%.
