Towers and war machines. Employ clever engineers to build ingenious death machines and raise towers with slots for them! Each player will be able to build towers (they are located between the wall sections) and place their chosen war machines in them. There are three variations of war machines: cannons, rocket batteries and powerful siege crossbows. Not only will you be able to use these in the game, which will greatly improve your defensive potential, but each player will also have a few upgrade cards to choose from, allowing for variety and replay of war machines. For example, one player may prefer to build cannons, but want them to be as cheap as possible, while another may focus on a single, but very powerful cannon.
Additional Horde Types and Siege Engines. The Mongols have brought some siege engines with them! Some of the Hordes cards will come with special gear to try and break down your walls. Defend against rams, which will break down your walls, catapults, which will hit your archers, and Hordes with siege towers, which will change the way you plan your defence. They will try to thwart your towers, using miners to demolish them. The new hordes will add to the replayability while still being able to be used in the basic game. New troops! Each clan sends their elite warriors to join the fray - all clans will have their own unique and extremely powerful soldiers! You can upgrade one of your basic soldier types to an elite soldier. For example, the Snake Clan will upgrade their archers to Chu-Ko-Nu crossbowmen, capable of firing quickly at all opponents. On the other hand, the Dragon Clan, as its name suggests, will equip some of its spearmen with fire lances. You can be sure that they won't be cheap, but if you can get them recruited early in the game, you will gain a huge advantage over the Hordes (and your opponents).
New Generals, Advisors, Artifacts and Tech Trees! This expansion also brings new generals, advisors and artifacts to improve replayability and allow for greater customization of your tactics. In addition, this expansion will introduce Technology Trees creating new development possibilities for each clan. With these cards, you will be able to adjust your strategy and invest in towers, war machines or improved army units!
