In Prehistories, send your best hunters to track the game and then entrust your Shaman with the task of painting your exploits on the walls of the cave. Being fast will allow you to choose your prey first but being strong will bring you the most beautiful species... The first to translate the wishes of the Ancients into paintings will be declared the winner! Whoever goes hunting paints his place! Place the Animal tiles on the main board and then choose objectives for the game. Each player takes the 12 cards of the clan of their choice and places their cave and the corresponding totem tokens in front of them. Each player draws the first 3 cards from his or her pile, this is his or her starting hand. In order to get the Animal tiles, the minimum score indicated in front of each Animal tile must be reached. Players simultaneously choose from the cards in their hand the hunters they wish to send. The player with the lowest total plays first because his hunters are the fastest. The hunter with the highest total can hunt more or bigger animals but, being the slowest, it is not certain that there will still be something left in the valley in his turn.
On the return from each hunt, the Shaman will paint your exploits by placing the animal tile(s) recovered in your cave. Paint as best you can, to meet the requirements set at the beginning of the game by the spirits of the Elders. You will therefore have to anticipate the hunts necessary for these. When you achieve one (or more) objectives, place the number of Totem tokens indicated on the corresponding Objective card. The first player to place his 8 Totem tokens wins the game!
