You want to become the new ruler of the Kingdom of the 12. To do this, you use your magic orb. But to channel its power, you will need the help of various characters throughout the kingdom. In The King of 12, each player plays with the same set of seven character cards. On each turn, each player chooses one and plays it hidden on the table. When everyone has done so, they are revealed. If two or more players have chosen the same card, it is cancelled. Otherwise, the effects of the cards are resolved. They affect each player's magic orb - a d12. After all cards have been resolved, the dice values are compared.
If two players have the same value on their dice, they are cancelled. In general, the player left with the highest value on his die wins the round and gets 2 points. The second player also gets 1 point. But in some cases, the lowest value can win... When there is only one card left, the players compare their points. Players with the same number of points cancel each other out, and the player with the most points wins the round. This player puts one of his or her cards aside and another round is played until one player has to put a second card aside. That player wins the game.
An enjoyable and very interactive game of bluffing, mind reading and tactics. Easy to learn and fun to play. Up to four games can be combined to play with up to 16 players.
