Cartagena is a game of course that leads from prison to freedom. To go through the undergrounds represented by six sections, it will be necessary to use the cards that one has in hand. By playing a card with a given symbol (there are six different ones), a player moves one of his six pirates to the first free box with that famous symbol. This sometimes allows to advance several sections in one go, depending on how are placed the pawns of all players.
The problem is that his supply of cards is running out quickly. To redo his hand, we must agree to back down, with some constraints. A pirate moves back to a square already occupied by one or two other pirates. This allows you to draw one or two cards, according to and respectively. You have to know how to wait patiently for a player to step back to take advantage and draw two cards. On the other hand when three pieces are on the same site, it is not possible to be welcomed, it is necessary to go back further.
When the symbol played no longer appears in front of a pirate, it climbs aboard the boat, a promise of freedom. The first player to board his six pirates wins. There are two variants to the game. With the first, the cards are drawn as and when. The second, Jamaica, leaves far less room for chance. 12 sound cards spread and indicate which cards will be drawn as and when. Less chance but more thought. It's a balance to choose from.
